International Fora for the Freedom of the Cuban Five

(acn) The National Union of Jurists of Cuba (UNJC) has organized in Havana
an interactive international forum to demand the release of the five Cubans
incarcerated in the United States for 12 years now for fighting terrorism.
The call for this meeting, to take place on October 6 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, is
aimed at “men and women who practice Law in Cuba and abroad,” as well as at “university
students and to all those who want to join us”, according to information provided by the UNJC.
“End injustice. Freedom, now!” is the title of this forum to demand the return home of
Antonio Guerrero, Fernando Gonzalez, Gerardo Hernandez, Ramon Labañino and Rene Gonzalez,
arrested and tried in Miami in 1998.
“These are years of shame for those who administer justice in a country that intends to
lecture the world with regard to human rights,” denounces the document, while referring to the
arbitrary acts committed in the case of The Five, as they’re known internationally.
Questions and commentaries can be sent to cuba.juristas@yahoo.es, from September 15th
through October 3rd, and will be published later on the Web site http://foros.cubava.cu,

Public Rally to Free the Cuban Five

Saturday October 2, 2010
Oak Room, Vanier Hall, University of Windsor, Ontario, Canada
We are honoured to inform you that we will be addressed by Elizabeth Palmeiro, the wife of Ramon Labañino, one of the Cuban Five and Silvia Garcia Tabio, member of the Cuban National Assembly.
September 12 marks the 12th anniversary of the unjust incarceration in U.S. jails of the five Cuban men who were working in the United States to prevent terrorism against Cuba. We feel it is crucial that we raise our voices with the many others who are doing the same at this time to say: This is the year to Free the Five!
In order to make this an international event, we are inviting our partners in Detroit and across the U.S. to join with us in Windsor in calling for the release of the Five by the Obama administration.
